Book Buy Bonanza

Well, since my husband didn't remember to get me a Valentine Day card, he took me to Barnes & Noble instead and there I purchased several books.

I got 3 romances (something for Valentine's Day) .....
A Secret Affair
The Perfect Mistress
A Precious Jewel
and 2 cozy mysteries....
If Books Could Kill
The Lies that Bind

I guess I won't have to put my hubbie in the doghouse this year.

Book Buy Bonanza

Being the bibliophile that I am, even though I just got my new Nook e-reader last week didn't stop me from picking up several new books when I was at Barnes&Noble on Friday. I was nearby and thought I'd pop n and get a few questions answered about my Nook and ended up walking out with 4 new books.

Delicious and Suspicious

This is the first installment of the Memphis BBQ Mysteries. I'd seen it mentioned on several mystery bogs and been interested in reading so into the cart it went.

The Long Quiche Goodbye

This is the first Cheese Shop Mystery. I have bee reading about this one on the MysteryLoversKitchen blog for several months...I even tried to get an early reviewers copy but no luck so I bought it myself. It looks yummy.

Ten Things I love about You

This is the newest book by Julia Quinn - I just love her romances, so this one made it to the cart as well.

A Summer in Sonoma

This one I have to admit was pure impulse - I liked the cover (it reminded me of our trip to Napa Valley), the title (because it flowed) and the synopsis on the back, so I thought I would try a new author.

Check back sometime to see a review.

Teaberry Strangler by Laura Childs

Read: Apr 24 - Apr 26
Format: Hardback, 288 pages
Source: Personal Library
Subject: murder, archeology,
Setting: Charleston, SC
Category: Cuddle up with a good Cozy Mystery
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Challenges: 101020, 75 Book, TIOLI,
Stars: 3

This book is the latest of the Tea Shoppe mysteries continuing the exploits of Theodosia Browning and her cohorts at the Indigo Tea Shop. During an event, Theodosia witnesses the murder of her friend Daria in an alley but due to darkness she is unable to identify the murderer. Tidwell of the Charleston Police, thinks that possibly Theo was the target but cannot find any clues to substantiate that theory. When Theo recognizes Beth Ann, (Jory Davis' ex-fiancée) she begins to feel that she may be in danger. The events that follow keep Theo on her toes until the mystery is solved.

As much as I adore this series and enjoyed this book, I still felt that it lacked a little in the viable clues to aid the reader in solving the mystery. Will this make me stop reading this series, NO WAY! The interaction of the characters along with their development as well as the side stories of their day to day lives is enough to keep the readers coming back for more. And the scrumptious sounding recipes don't hurt either!

I especially want to thank the author, Laura Childs, for sending me a signed copy simply because I told her how much I was looking forward to this new book. I feel very honored.
