There are many reviews out there for this book so I will just comment on my impressions. First I was disappointed because I had heard so much about this book and then when I finally read it, it didn't live up to my expectations. The characters were very flat caricatures IMO, and the situations seemed a bit contrived. It never really grabbed my attention thoroughly and didn't hold my interest as I went along.

Sorry you didn't really enjoy it. I loved it, but I tend to enjoy books in letter format. I'll link to your post on War Through the Generations.
